Brett Hansen, Ph.D. Kelric Learning

Possessing more than 20 years of experience leading and developing education and training programs for an array of different subjects and learning environments provides Brett the ability to analyze and develop across most any subject area: soft skills, leadership, program management, aviation, risk management, soccer, qualitative analysis, international programs, government procurement, production, cross-cultural, coaching/mentoring... An even longer history with software and systems engineering led to a specialization in the management and development of integrated training systems and curricula, including simulation/simulators, electronic classrooms, training management systems, and courseware. Learner development, transfer of knowledge, and quality has always been his focus.

During his doctoral studies at Capella University, Brett embraced a world-view of education, and balanced early positivist influences of his career in order to develop and execute qualitative inquiries into the characteristics of context for instructional design. Distinguishing context as a key to the transfer of knowledge, his research examined the composition and relationships of contextual elements within instructional design to more effectively develop education and training that improves transfer: "context can be considered a bridge on which the transfer of knowledge travels between education and application."

A successful employee-focused executive, he has led, mentored, and coached multiple successful teams, many of them distributed, in instructional design, software development, system analysis, and program management. Strategic planning and execution has allowed him to successfully start and grow profitable teams, divisions, and companies. Having a life-long passion for soccer, he has coached high school boys varsity soccer and continues coaching, refereeing, and mentoring. He is a highly rated classroom instructor with classes from 10 to over 100 learners and is effective in online instruction. A persistent learner, with wide and varied interests, he maintains both a learner and instructor perspective within his developments.

Kelric operates out of the Reston Town Center, VA, USA, and can serve the Washington, D.C. metro area directly. Other areas served through video conference or on-site visits.
